Configuring System Information Widgets

To configure a System Information widget, follow the steps below:

  1. Create a new System Information widget or open an existing one for modifying. The System Information Widget Properties dialog box appears.

    INFO: For instructions on adding or modifying dashboard widgets, see Creating and Modifying Dashboard Widgets.

  2. Specify the widget’s name in the Name field.
  3. Specify the widget’s title in the Title field. The title will be displayed in the widget's title bar on dashboards.
  4. If you want to allow technicians to collapse this widget, select the Allow to minimize widget check box.
  5. Populate the Information section as follows:
    • To add an item, click New. In the Info Name field, select one of the following:
      • Database Name the name of Alloy Navigator Express database that is currently in use.
      • User Name the user name (login name) of the current user and the full name of the Person associated with the account of this user.
      • About Alloy Navigator a link to the “About Alloy Navigator” page.

      Optionally, you can edit the item’s caption in the Caption field. Click OK.

    • To edit an item, select it and click Edit, change the item properties as needed, and click OK.
    • To reposition a widget within the dashboard, select it and then use the Move Up and Move Down buttons.
    • To delete an item, select it in the list and click Delete.
  6. In the Number of lines to display field, select how to choose the height of the widget:
    • To limit the height of the widget, enter the number of lines to show. The widget will automatically add a scroll bar when the number of information items exceeds the specified height. The height will be reduced automatically when the number of information items is less than the specified height.
    • To let the widget adjust its height automatically to show all available content, click display all.
  7. Click OK.
