Allocation tab

This tab lists all allocations of the Software License to computers and hardware devices.

Double-clicking a record in the grid opens allocation details in the Software Installation window.

On this tab, you can perform the following actions:

To allocate the license to specific computers or inventory items:
1. Click Allocate > To specific Devices. The Select Object window opens.
2. Double-click the selected computer or inventory item. For details about searching, see Using the Advanced Search tool.
To allocate the license to users:
1. Click Allocate > To Person(s). The Select Persons window opens.
2. Double-click the selected user. For details about searching, see Using the Advanced Search tool.
Discovered software installations that have not been reconciled to their licenses are referred to as "unreconciled installations". You can manually "reconcile" such installations, i.e. allocate a license to the computers where those installations are discovered.

To allocate the license to all computers with "unreconciled" installations at once:
- Click Allocate > Auto-allocate.
To allocate the license to the particular computers where the associated software was discovered:
1. Click Allocate > To Computers with discovered Installations. The Select Computer window opens.
2. Select the computer where you want to allocate the license and click OK.

To deallocate the license from a computer or hardware device:
- Select the license allocation and click Deallocate.
To associate computers or inventory items with another license (i.e. replace the current license with another one having the same Tracked Software):
1. Select computers for which you want to replace the current license with another one.
2. Click Allocate > Associate Devices with another License. The Select License window opens.
3. Double-click the selected license that you want to allocate to selected devices instead of the current license. Note that only those licenses are listed that have the same Tracked Software.
NOTE: When this Tracked Software does not have any other licenses, the Select Licenses list is empty.
