Online Help | Network Inventory

Viewing Network Device Details

You view the detailed information about audited network device in the Network Device record window. Also, this window allows viewing and editing the values of user defined fields if your Network Inventory administrator has configured any for network devices.

To open this window, double-click the network device row in the All Nodes grid of a Site, or in the Network Devices grid of a Site or a network device Collection.

The Network Device record window can be tabbed or untabbed. The tabbed window contains the General, Printer Supplies, or Network Interfacestabs. The untabbed window displays the same information as the General tab of the tabbed window.

General tab

Device Name - the name of the network device.

IPv4 Address - the IPv4 address of the network device.

IPv6 Address - the IPv6 address of the network device.

SysDescr - the description of the node. The data is received from "1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0" OID (sysDescr).

SysObjectID - the vendor identifier from "SMI Network Management Private Enterprise Codes". The data is received from "1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2.0" OID (sysObjectID).

Printer Supplies tab

This tab appears for devices detected as printers. It displays textual and graphical information about printer supplies, such as ink or toner.

NOTE: The Printer Supplies tab does not appear for print servers.

There are two kinds of information that can be displayed on this tab:

  • Supplies that are consumed (toner, ink, paper, staples, etc.). Levels of these supplies are visualized with progress bars that start at 100% and gradually decrease.

  • Receptacles that are filled (for example, the cleaner unit). Their levels are visualized with progress bars that start at 0% (empty receptacle) and gradually increase.

NOTE: Information about printer supplies is obtained from the device via SNMP and displayed "as is". Thus, each printer may have a different set of available information, different units of measurement (thousands of ounces, tenths of milliliters), etc.

Network Interfaces tab

This tab appears for devices detected as switches. It lists switch network interfaces. You can see the detailed information about each record by double-clicking the desired network interface from the list. The information will be shown in the Network Interface window.

MAC - the MAC address of the switch or connected network device.

Interface - the interface of the switch.

IP Address - the IP address of the connected network node.

Network Node - the name used to identify connected network device.

Seen Date - the date when the device was last detected within network interface of this switch.

Description - the description of the network interface.

Vlan - the virtual local area network.
