Creating software products

To add a software product:

  1. In the Software Catalog, click New. The Software Product [Product Name] window opens.

  2. On the General tab, enter the product name (required) and optionally enter the version, web page, platform and description, and select a manufacturer from the list of software manufacturers.

  3. If needed, you can assign the product to one of the predefined categories (if specified) by selecting a category from the Category list.

  4. All newly created products are assigned to the default software group. To reclassify the product, select another group from the Group list.

  5. If the product you are creating is a software suite that joins several software products, click A suite and includes other components under This product is and add all products included in this suite.

  6. On the Recognition Rules tab, create a list of recognition rules to identify this product. For details, see Adding software recognition rules.

  7. Click OK.
