Hiding user-defined fields

If you are creating the user-defined field to hold internal values for your workflow, it doesn't need to be visible to technicians and Self Service Portal customers. In such a case, you can hide this field from users.

An Alloy Navigator Express administrator can access hidden UDFs in the Settings App (through Field Customization) and in the Desktop App or Web App via Batch Updating.

To hide a user-defined field from users:

  1. Go to Customization > General > Fields > [Object Class].

  2. Under Options, select the Hidden check box.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Click Save on the toolbar to apply the changes.

NOTE: Alternatively, you can hide a UDF in the Custom Data Display window where you arrange UDFs.
