Manage Chart Filters window

You use the Manage Chart Filters window to manage chart filters, i.e. filtering conditions that are applied to the source data of the view-based dashboard chart. When the shared view which the chart is based on already has the Advanced Filter, the advanced and chart filters will be connected with the AND logic.

Only one chart filter can be applied to the chart data at a time. You can define multiple independent chart filters, providing Desktop App users with the ability to switch between filters and view the chart with various filtering conditions applied.

When the technician clicks a chart element on the dashboard and opens the data view associated with the clicked element, the view appears with the chart filter applied. However, the technician may disable the chart filter using the Advanced Filter tab of the Customize View window and see the data as the shared view defines.

To access the Manage Chart Filters window, click Filters in the Chart Widget Properties window when creating or modifying the Chart widget.

The Manage Chart Filters window displays the chart filters in the table with the following columns:

  • Name - the chart filter name

  • Condition - the filtering condition

You can manage chart filters by using the following buttons:

  • Add - brings up the Filter Editor window, where you can create a new chart filter.

  • Edit - allows you to modify the selected chart filter using Filter Editor window.

  • Move Up, Move Down - moves the selected chart filter one position up or down in the table. The first chart filter in the list is applied to the chart data by default. The order of chart filters defines their display order in the drop-down list on the widget.

  • Delete - removes the selected chart filter.

TIP: To preview the chart with its chart filter, open the Chart Preview window by clicking Preview in the Chart Widget Properties window. When your chart has multiple chart filters, you can switch between filters and preview the chart with different filtering conditions using the button in the upper-right corner.
