Alert Macros

Macros are combinations of static text and placeholders for dynamic content. Dynamic content is replaced by the actual values at runtime, i.e. when the alert notification is generated. Depending on the alert type, a number of predefined macros are available.

Audit Date

The date and time on the client computer when the alert was triggered.

Alert Name

The alert name.

Host Name

The name of the computer where the alert condition was detected.

Object List

What happened to the specified object (the detected change or state).

The [Object Name] [Object] [Action]

[Action] can have the following values: was added, was removed, was detected.

For example:

The "Samsung ML 2010" printer was added.

Object Change

Object List

What happened to the specified software product (the detected change or state).

[Product Name] [Version] [Action].

[Action] can have the following values: was installed, was uninstalled, exists.

For example:

Alloy Navigator Express 2023.2 exists.

Software Product Change

Attribute List

The current attribute value or its old and new values.

Depending on the alert condition:

  • If Generate notification only if the audit attribute has changed is clear:

    The [Attribute] of the "[Object Name]" [Object] is "[Value]".

    For example:

    The Frequency of the "AMD Heathendom 64 Processor 3000+" CPU is "1.8".

    NOTE: CPU frequency is measured in GHz.

  • If Generate notification only if the audit attribute has changed is selected:

    The [Attribute] of the "[Object Name]" [Object] has changed.
    Old: [Old Value]
    New: [New Value]

    For example:

    The Value of the "Office" Custom Field has changed.
    Old: West Branch
    New: Main Office

Attribute Value

Free Space

Free disk space below the specified threshold.

Free disk space on drive [Disk] ([Actual Space]) is below the [Threshold]% threshold.

For example:

Free disk space on drive C (32 GB) is below the 20% threshold.

RAM Size

RAM size below the specified threshold.

RAM size ([Actual Size] MB) is below the [Threshold] MB threshold.

For example:

RAM size (1024 MB) is below the 2064 MB threshold.

Memory Size

UAC State

The state of UAC (User Account Control).

[UAC State] can be ON or OFF.

For example:

UAC is ON.

The list of changed hardware component’s attributes with their old and new values.

The [Attribute 1] of the "[Object Name]" [Object] has changed.
Old: [Old Value]
New: [New Value]

The [Attribute 2] of the "[Object Name]" [Object] has changed.

New: [New Value]

For example:

The Speed of the "NVIDIA force 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet" has changed.
Old: 100 Mbps
New: 150 Mbps

Network Settings List

The list of changed network settings with their old and new values.

The [Attribute 1] has changed.
Old: [Old Value]
New: [New Value]

The [Attribute 2] has changed.
Old: [Old Value]

For example:

The IP Address has changed.
Old: 192.168.178.1
New: 192.168.17.1
