Adding Domain Credentials

Before configuring an Active Directory Synchronization synchronization job for any domain except for the domain you are logged in to, you must specify and validate your credentials for it. You will use these credentials later, when creating the job.

INFO: For details, see Configuring Active Directory Synchronization Jobs.

To add a Domain Credentials record, follow these steps:

  1. From the Sidebar, navigate to Services > Active Directory Integration > Domain Credentials and click New. The Domain dialog box opens.
  2. In the Domain field, specify the domain name. We recommend that you specify a NetBIOS domain name, i.e. the short domain name. NetBIOS domain names generally do not contain a period.

This domain name will be added to imported persons’ usernames in the DOMAIN\username format.

  3. In the Server Name field, specify the name or IP address of an Active Directory domain controller.
  4. In the Port name, specify the port for connecting to the domain controller or keep the default value.
  5. In the User Name field, specify an Active Directory account with enough permissions to read user account information.
  6. In the Password field, specify the password.
  7. Select the Secure Connection check box if you want to establish a secure connection.
  8. Click Test Connection to make sure that Alloy Navigator Express can connect to the domain controller using the specified credentials.
  9. Click OK to save your changes.
