Organizing charts with categories

Categories help organize charts in the Reports > Analytics list and make charts easier to browse.

Categories are displayed only in the Reports > Analytics library. Charts can belong to multiple categories and subcategories.

NOTE: Categories do not control access to charts. Chart visibility is managed through chart sharing settings.

These system categories are available and cannot be deleted or modified:

  • All charts: All available charts;

  • Uncategorized: Charts without a category.

Create categories

Categories are managed from the category tree on the left side of the Reports > Analytics page.

To create a category:

  1. Click the plus sign in the upper-right corner of the category tree.

  2. Select New Category.

  3. Enter a name and optionally a description.

  4. and save the category.

To create a subcategory:

  1. Select a category.

  2. Click the plus sign in the upper-right corner of the category tree.

  3. Click New Subcategory.

  4. Enter a name and optionally a description.

  5. Save the subcategory.

You can also rename categories, update descriptions, and change category order or hierarchy using the move buttons and commands in the ellipsis menu above the category tree.

Assign charts to categories

You can assign charts to categories from the chart list or from the chart itself.

From the chart list on the Reports > Analytics pageĀ :

  1. Select one or more charts.

  2. Click Add to category.

  3. Select categories or subcategories.

  4. Save the changes.

From a chart:

  1. Open the chart.

  2. In Chart Settings, select the Categories tab.

  3. Add or remove categories.

  4. Save the chart.
