Working with views

After you have customized the visual aspects of a grid, you can save your settings for further use as a view. A view is a particular visual representation of a grid. Each of Web App's components has one or more data views already created for your convenience.

There are two types of views in Web App:

  • Local views - available for you only. You can create new local views and copy, rename, or delete the existing ones.

  • Shared views - available not only to you but also to other Alloy Navigator Web App users. You can share your local views, or you can use shared views created by the administrator or other users. The availability of shared views depends on your role in the organization.

When you access an Web App component, the data is displayed using either the default view for that component or using the view you chose last. The name of the current view is shown as follows: on the grid's Module menu as [Object Name] > [View Name]; for example: Incidents > Pending Approvals.
