Using the Attachment Browser

The Attachment Browser helps you quickly find files and links attached to various objects in Alloy Navigator. Instead of opening each record and checking its attachments manually, you can use the Attachment Browser to browse and search attachments within a selected scope (for example, the current record, its child records, or related records).

The Attachment Browser can be opened from the Attachments tab of an object record window or a workflow action form by clicking Attach > Attachment Browser.

Browsing attachments

To browse attachments:

1. Open the Attachment Browser.

2. In the Filter by area on the right, select where to look for attachments:

   • This [object]: Attachments added to the current record only.

   • All Children: Attachments added to child records of the current record.

   • Related Object: Attachments added to records related to the current record.

3. In the grid area, browse the displayed attachments (if any). You can use the standard grid customization capabilities: filtering, sorting, grouping, etc.

Finding attachments

To find attachments using search:

1. Enter the text you want to find.

2. Select the attribute to search in: the attachment description, filename, etc.

3. Click the Search button.

Using Custom search

If you need to find attachments linked to objects other than the current record, its children, or related objects, select Custom search in Filter by.

IMPORTANT: When using Custom search, you must enter at least three characters in the search field before clicking Search.
