Allocated Licenses tab

This tab lists all allocations of the Software Licenses associated with the Tracked Software on computers and hardware devices.

NOTE: The access scope restricts the number of Allocated Licenses shown in the grid. For details, see Understanding security roles.

Double-clicking a record in the grid opens allocation details in the Software Installation window.

On this tab, you can perform the following actions with the license allocations:

• To allocate a license to specific computers or hardware devices:

  1. Click Allocate > To specific Devices. The Select License window opens.

  2. Select the license you want to allocate and click OK. The Select Object window opens.

  3. Select the target computer or hardware device and click OK. For instructions on searching, see Using the Advanced Search Tool.

• To allocate a license to users:

  1. Click Allocate > To Persons. The Select License window opens.

  2. Select the license you want to allocate and click OK. The Select Persons window opens.

  3. Select the user and click OK. For instructions on searching, see Using the Advanced Search Tool.

     Discovered software installations that have not been reconciled to their licenses are referred to as "unreconciled installations". You can manually "reconcile" such installations, i.e. allocate a license to the computers where those installations are discovered.

• To reconcile discovered installations:

  1. Click Allocate > To Computers with discovered Installations. The Select License window opens.

  2. Select the license you want to allocate and click OK. The Select Computer window opens.

  3. Select the computer where you want to allocate the license and click OK.

• To deallocate a license from a computer or hardware device:

  • Select the license allocation and click Deallocate.
