General tab
The General tab is where you enter all the general information about the Network.
The information is organized in the following sections:
Upper untitled section - displays the name and text description of the Network.
Categorization section - shows the type and category of the Network. The lists of Network types and categories are configured by your Alloy Navigator administrator.
Ownership Information section - allows you to associate the Network with the Person who is responsible for the Network and also with their Organization and Location. When the Organization, Owner, or Location is chosen, the field label becomes hyperlinked. To view organization, person, or location details, click the link. .
Network IP Range section - allows you to set an IP address range for the Network. It’s recommended that the Network's range is defined before any audit data is uploaded from Alloy Discovery. This ensures that computers will be auto-associated with the appropriate network, if their IP falls into a specific Network's range.
The General tab may also display various user-defined fields in an additional section if your Alloy Navigator administrator has configured them accordingly. The default name of this section is "Custom Data", although your Alloy Navigator administrator may have renamed this section.
NOTE: User-defined fields can appear also on the Custom Data tab (this is the default name of the tab; it can be renamed by your Alloy Navigator administrator).
