Adding relationship types

To add a relationship type:

  1. In the General > Object Relationship Map section, click New. The New Relationship Type window appears.

  2. In the Kind list, click the kind of the relationship type ("Parent-Child" or "Sibling"). For details, see Configuring Object Relationship.

  3. Enter the relationship type name:

    • For a "Parent-Child" relationship: Type in the name in the Parent-Child Name field and the inverse name in the Child-Parent Name field. For example, these names can be "Contains" and "Is part of", or "Is newer than" and "Is older than".

    • For a "Sibling" relationship: Type in the name in the Name field. For example, this name can be "Connected".

  4. Choose the object classes that can be connected by this relationship type (the relationship type will be available only for objects of these classes):

    • For a "Parent-Child" relationship: In the Parent Objects and Child Objects lists, click each node to expand it, and then select the corresponding check boxes.

    • For a "Sibling" relationship: In the Objects list, click each node to expand it, and then select the corresponding check boxes.

    • TIP: To select all objects of a module, select the module's check box. To select or clear check boxes next to all objects in both lists, click Select All or Deselect All, correspondingly.

  1. Click OK.
