Checking archiving job results
Alloy Navigator Enterprise On-Prem only
Microsoft SQL Server only
After you have configured an archiving job, you can test the job and check its results to make sure it works correctly. You can test a disabled job as well.
Before you begin, complete these steps:
-
Make sure that the Automation Server is running. You can do this by checking the Automation Server status icon in the Settings App status bar.
-
Make sure that your Alloy Navigator database contains inactive records that have not been modified for the specified period of time, i.e. objects that match the job policy.
IMPORTANT: Testing the job will permanently remove this data from the Alloy Navigator database, so you may want to create test data matching the job policy.
To force running an archiving job and check its results:
-
Go to Services > Archiving > Archiving, select the job to test and click Run on the Module menu. If the command is unavailable, click Refresh to refresh the information.
-
To verify whether the job has run and processed the data, double-click the job, go to the Sessions tab, and review the latest entry at the top. If the job created the archive database, double-click the entry and review the database name. For details, see Archiving Log.
-
In the Alloy Navigator's Desktop App or Web App, make sure that the job removed target objects.
-
To check archived records, go to Services > Archiving > Archive Databases, browse the database and view archived Tickets.
