Navigate to assets by barcode or QR code

You can quickly open an asset record by scanning a barcode or QR code in the Mobile App. This feature is available in Asset Management > Assets and in the Equipment Lending Library.

Use barcode or QR code scanning when you are near a physical asset or borrowed item and need to open its record without searching for it manually.

To open an asset by barcode or QR code:

1. Open Asset Management > Assets or the Equipment Lending Library.

2. In the Module Menu, tap the Scan icon.

3. If you are using the scanner for the first time, allow the mobile app to access your camera. The barcode scanner opens.

4. Point the camera at the code.

The Mobile App searches for a matching asset. If a match is found, the related asset record opens.

A code can represent one of the supported asset identifiers: Barcode, Asset Tag, or Serial Number. When you scan the code, the Mobile App uses the encoded value to find and open the matching asset record.
