Managing Request Fulfillment

A Request Fulfillment aims to link Service Catalog Item to Create Action in Service Requests. When a customer orders an item from the Service Catalog, Alloy Navigator creates a corresponding request for the service delivery.

NOTE: For more information, see How Tos: How to use and customize the Service Catalog.

Alloy Navigator’s default workflow provides a number of predefined requests for new services (i.e. Service Catalog Items) such as Password Reset, Network Share Access, Software Request, Account Modification, etc. For these requests Create Actions and Request Fulfillments are already configured.

You can rename a Request Fulfillment or associate it with another Create Action, if needed. However, we recommend that you use the name of the Service Request Create Action as the Request Fulfillment value. You can also disable or enable a Request Fulfillment and delete items that are no longer needed.

If your Service Catalog data administrators will need to add new types of services, you as the system administrator must configure new Create Actions and Request Fulfillments.

To add a Request Fulfillment:

NOTE: Make sure that you have already configured Create Action for submitting request for service you want to include in your Service Catalog. For details, see Adding Create Service Actions.

  1. From the Sidebar, navigate to Workflow and Business Logic > Service Management > Service Catalog Items > Classification > Request Fulfillments.

  2. Click New. The New Service Catalog Item Request Fulfillment dialog box opens.

  3. Type a value. We recommend that you use the name of the Service Request Create Action as the Request Fulfillment value.

  4. In the Service Request Create Action list, select the Create Action for Service Requests that you have configured earlier.

NOTE: You should keep the Active check box selected.

  5. Click OK.
