System Macros
Updated in 2024
Alloy Navigator provides a number of predefined system macros that serve as standard building blocks for email notifications, pop-up messages, workflow items, and user-defined macros. At runtime, the workflow engine replaces each macro with its actual value, making macros a powerful tool for dynamic, context-aware automation. For example, the Current User macro inserts the name of the current person into a notification, while the Initiator macro lets the business logic determine which application triggered the workflow. Unlike user-defined macros, system macros cannot be modified, deleted, or extended with new ones, because Alloy Navigator relies on them.
