Once Alloy Navigator is installed, you can create a new Alloy Navigator 8 database.
TIP: If you migrate data from an earlier version into a new Alloy Navigator 8 database, see Migrating data from a previous version of Alloy Navigator.
You will have these options during the database creation:
Production database - Choose this option to create a database for production use. Your database will contain a predefined combination of workflow and various configuration data that you can use out of the box in your environment or customize to your needs.
Evaluation database (with sample data) - Choose this option to create an evaluation database populated with sample data. This database will help you evaluate the product and understand how Alloy Navigator works. You can use this option when you want to take a closer look at Alloy Navigator before using in the production environment.
IMPORTANT: Creating a database requires membership in the sysadmin fixed server role on the SQL server that will host the new database. Sysadmin credentials are required only for creating the database. Alloy Navigator will not use them later.
