Working with Equipment Lending Library Records and Equipment Reservations

Library Items that are created in Alloy Navigator typically correspond to the miscellaneous items that users can borrow from your organization for temporary use.

Reservations are usually used to control the process of borrowing ("checking out") Library Items by limiting the ability to check out the item for all users except the one who reserved it.

You can work with equipment lending library records and equipment reservations in the following ways:

  • ClosedAdding Library Items

    The methods for creating Library Item records are the same as for the object records of any class. For details, see Adding records.

  • ClosedChecking Library Items in and out

    Typically, you check Library Items out and in by performing the Check Out and Check In workflow actions, which are available in the Actions menu and the Action Bar. For details, see Performing workflow actions.

    NOTE: Relations of the Check Out and Check In workflow actions executed on a Library Item with the Reservations of the Library Item may vary depending on the business logic configured by your Alloy Navigator administrator.

  • ClosedViewing Reservations of all Library Items

    To open the Equipment Reservations grid displaying Reservations of all Library Items, select Asset Management > Equipment Reservations from the navigation menu.

    To open a particular Reservations, double-click the corresponding record in the grid.

  • ClosedViewing Reservations of a particular Library Item

    To view Reservations and Reservation Requests of the particular Library Item, do the following:

    1. Open the Equipment Lending Library grid by selecting Asset Management > Equipment Lending Library from the navigation menu.

    2. Locate the necessary Library Item (if necessary, switch to the view containing it) and double-click it. The Library Item window opens.

    3. Switch to the Reservations tab of the Library Item window.

  • ClosedReserving Library Items by creating Reservations

    The methods for creating Equipment Reservations records may vary depending on the configuration of the Library Items and Reservations workflow set up by your Alloy Navigator administrator. For details, see Performing workflow actions.

    Typically, the actions necessary to create a Reservation are the same as for the object records of any class. For details, see Adding records. New Reservation for Library Items usually can be created:

    • from the Equipment Reservations grid. To access it, navigate to Asset Management > Equipment Reservations from the navigation menu.

    • from the Reservations tab of the particular Library Item record.
