Configuration tab

The Configuration tab shows the technical details about the Computer grouped in the following sections:

  • Operating System section - displays the name of Computer's operating system.

  • CPU section - shows the details about the Computer's processor, including the number of CPUs in the Computer configuration, the CPU speed, the number of cores the Computer has, etc.

  • HDD & RAM section - displays the sizes of the Computer's hard drives and memory modules and the available free disk space. The SSD field also shows whether a computer has any solid-state drive detected or not.

  • Display section - shows the names of the Computer's display adapter and monitor.

  • Virtualization section -displays whether the detected computer is a hypervisor, or a virtual machine and where the virtual machine resides. The host where the virtual guest computer resides can be chosen from the reference table (for details, see Associating Virtual Machines with Host Machines). When the host is specified, clicking its link opens the selected host in the separate window. For computer records that were created automatically during network inventory data upload, all fields in the Virtualization section are auto-populated.

  • Network section - shows computer's network-related details, including the domain or workgroup, LAN card and the network to which the Computer is assigned.

  • User Activity section - is populated for the records created automatically during the data upload from Alloy Discovery. The Last Logged User field contains the last user who logged in the Computer. You can click the hyperinked field caption to view the details of the user's Person record.

  • Audit Information section - is populated for the records created automatically during the data upload from Alloy Discovery. The Audit Date field contains the date when the audit data was last uploaded to the database. You can open this audit data in the Audit Snapshot Viewer window by clicking Show Audit Information.

  • IP Addresses section - lists the IP addresses assigned to the Computer (for details, see Assigning IP addresses to Computers and Hardware). The Module menu allows you to manage the IP addresses of the Computer:
    • Attach IP - allows to assign a new IP address to the Computer by specifying its details in the IP Address window.

    • Release IP - excludes the selected IP address from the list of Computer's IP addresses.

    • Set Primary IP Address - marks the selected IP address as "primary" for this Computer. You can change primary IP address manually. For details, see Assigning IP addresses to Computers and Hardware.
