Changing the Default Locale

The default locale for Microsoft Report Builder reports determines how all pre-packaged reports display locale dependent values, such as date, time, and currency. This guarantees that all reports generated from the Desktop App or the Web App use consistent formats, regardless on the system locale on the technician's computer, browser locale, or the globalization settings on the IIS server.

INFO: A locale is a set of settings that defines the user's language, country and other regional preferences in the user interface. A locale identifier consists of a language identifier and a region identifier.

Initially, Alloy Navigator uses the locale settings from the computer where you run the Database Management tool to create your Alloy Navigator database. If needed, you can change the default locale for reports.

The default locale affects all pre-packaged Microsoft Report Builder reports and applies by default to Microsoft Report Builder reports created by users. If you need to override the default locale in specific reports, use the "Language" property on a report.

To change the default locale for Microsoft Report Builder reports:

  1. From the Sidebar, navigate to General > Report Settings.
  2. Under Default locale for MS Report Builder reports, choose a new default locale from the Locale drop-down list.
  3. Click Save on the Standard toolbar.
