Configuring Self-Registration

To enable self-registration, follow these steps:

  1. From the Sidebar, navigate to Self Service Portal > Self-Registration.
  2. Select the Enable self-registration check box.
  3. If you want to review and approve self-registered accounts before SSP customers can use them, select the Self-registered account must be authorized by the manager check box.

  4. If you want to have e-mail notifications about newly registered accounts, follow these steps:
    1. To generate the “Manager Notification” message and send it to the recipient when a new user is registered, select the Notify the manager when users self-register check box.
    2. If you turned on authorization for self-registered accounts on the previous step, select the Notify the manager when authorization is requested check box.
    3. In the Manager’s e-mail address field, type the e-mail address of the recipient. The recipient could be the Service Desk manager or any other person designated to authorize SSP accounts.

      NOTE: To authorize self-registered SSP users, the manager must be an Alloy Navigator administrator.

  5. Under Workflow, select the SSP Create Service Action that will be used for creating Person records for self-registered accounts: click the ellipsis button and choose the SSP Create Action for Persons in the Select Action dialog box.

    NOTE: For an SSP Create Service Action to appear in the Select Action dialog box, you have to configure it in the Business Logic Configuration > Organization Management > Persons > Workflow > Actions > Service Actions section.For details, see Adding Create Service Actions.

  6. Click Save.
