Configuring forms for displaying objects

The Self Service Portal uses View Forms to display object details for
NOTE: The appearance of Announcements and Knowledge Base Articles in the Self Service Portal is controlled via standard cascading style sheet (CSS) rules. For instructions, see Customizing Style Sheets.
Unlike standard Forms that you use in interactive actions, View Forms do not require user input, they only display object attributes, as illustrated below. That is why read-only View Forms do not support some features of other Forms, such as wizard style or validation rules for entered values.

To define the View Form for an object class:

From the Sidebar, navigate to Self Service Portal > Workflow.

The right pane lists the object classes available in the Self Service Portal (Incidents, Approval Requests, etc.). Each object class has its own single View Form. Double-click the View Form you want to review or modify.

Using the View Form dialog box, specify the contents of the View Form. You can add fields (including virtual fields for displaying dynamic content, i.e. macros and other objects’ fields), delete fields that you don’t want to display, customize field labels, organize fields into sections, control the visibility of sections using conditions, change the display order of sections and fields, and add instructional text.
