Customizing links to Alloy web applications

Before using any Alloy web application, you must configure the URLĀ that is stored in the database as the value of the web application link macro. In the Settings App, you can specify links to your Web App, Self Service Portal, and the API module.

To assign a value to the direct link macro:

  1. Go to Workflow and Business Logic > Advanced > System Macros.

NOTE: Alternatively, you can configure macros of a particular web application instance using the Web Configuration tool. For details, see Workflow Integration.

  2. Choose the web application which macro value you want to configure:

    • Web App Link - inserts the URL of your Web App.

    • Self Service Portal Link - inserts the URL of your Self Service Portal.

    • API Link - inserts the URL of your API.

  3. Enter custom URL and click Save from the module menu.

TIP: If you install your web server instance to the root directory of a web site, the URL will be a direct reference to this site. For example, http://www.company.com/. If you are using a virtual directory for your web application configuration, the virtual directory name should be a part of the URL. For example, if your server's host name is "www.company.com", specifying "webapp" as the virtual directory name will result in the following URL: http://www.company.com/webapp/.
