Database engine requirements
The following database engines are supported:
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Express
- Microsoft SQL Server 2014
- Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016
- Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Express
- Microsoft SQL Server 2017
- Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Express
- Microsoft SQL Server 2019
- Microsoft SQL Server 2019 Express
Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft SQL Server are supported.
IMPORTANT: The product has been tested on all the above-mentioned versions of Microsoft SQL Server with default settings. When your SQL Server instance also hosts other databases, its current settings may affect the proper functioning of Alloy Discovery Enterprise. If you encounter database-related errors, please contact the support team at support@alloysoftware.com. To avoid possible errors, it is recommended that you use SQL Server with default settings.
INFO: SQL Server Express has a number of technical limitations which may make it unsuitable for large-scale deployments. For details, see your MS SQL Server documentation such as Microsoft SQL Server Books Online, or other online resources.
If you do not have a SQL server to host the product’s database, you can install Microsoft SQL Server 2017 Express (Runtime Only), which is included with the Alloy Discovery Enterprise installation package.
