Stop the production Inventory Server

Before proceeding with the upgrade, stop the Inventory Server service on your production server. Launch the Inventory Server Manager and follow the on-screen instructions. The actual steps depend on the version you ware upgrading from.

For example, to stop Alloy Inventory Server 8:

1. On the computer hosting the Inventory Server, run the Inventory Server Manager.

2. Click Stop.

3. Click OK to exit the Inventory Server Manager.

If you have several Inventory Server instances for your Alloy Discovery database, you must stop every instance.
