Administration Guide

Controlling user access

Alloy Discovery supports the following users permissions:

  • Administration — grants full control to all Alloy Discovery functions including access to the Settings app and other administrative tools (the Database Management tool and the Inventory Server Manager). You must always have at least one user with the Administration permission.

  • Audit Management — allows role members to manage their own discovery, audit and recalculation tasks in the Desktop App, including discovering computers and network devices and running the Direct Network Scan.

    NOTE: Users with no permissions can access the Desktop App only for viewing audit results.

  • Sharing Local Views — allows role members to create shared copies of their local views.
