Choose the source database page

On this page, configure the following settings:

  1. Specify the SQL Server that hosts the database from which you’re importing data.

NOTE: If your SQL Server is configured to accept connections on a non-standard port, add this port number after the server name, separating them with a comma; for example: SERVER001,5618.

  1. Provide your credentials to log in to the SQL Server. Your account must have the sysadmin role on the SQL Server and the Administrator role in the source database.

    • To log in using your Windows account, choose Windows Authentication. You are not required to type in a login and password.

    • To use your SQL Server account, choose Standard SQL Server Authentication and enter your SQL login name and password.

  2. Choose the name of the source database.

  3. If you chose to migrate to a new database on the Choose the migration mode page, enter a name for the target (new) database in the Target DB field.

  4. Click Next.
