Configuring Network Diagram Connector Types

By default, Alloy Discovery has two system types of the network diagram connectors: Network connections and Hosted Virtual Machines connections.

NOTE: System types of diagram connectors cannot be deleted.

If you want to visualize logical links between network nodes, for example, client's connection to a database server, you can configure a custom type connector ( for example, DB connection), and then manually connect the nodes.

You can create, modify, and delete custom types of diagram connectors.

To add a connector type:

1. In the Settings App, navigate to General > Diagram Connector Types.

2. Click New, the New Diagram Connector Type dialog box opens.

3. In the Diagram Connector Type field, enter a name for the new type.

4. In the Color field, select the desired color.

5. Choose the connector Style and Weight.

6. Click OK.

To modify a connector type:

1. In the Settings App, navigate to General > Diagram Connector Types.

2. Select the type and click Edit, the Diagram Connector Type dialog box opens.

3. Make the necessary changes and click OK.

To delete a connector type:

1. In the Settings App, navigate to General > Diagram Connector Types.

2. Select the type and click Delete.

3. Click Yes to confirm the operation.
