Checking Audit Sources for New Snapshots

The method of checking Audit Sources and uploading inventory data from the deployment location involves the following steps:

  1. Create the folder that will serve as an intermediary repository and store the audit snapshots.
  2. Deploy the Inventory Analyzer package with standalone audit agent to a target location (a network share or a flash drive).

INFO: For details, see Automating the Network Folder Audit, Deploying Inventory Analyzer Package for E-mail Delivery, Deploying Inventory Analyzer package for FTP delivery, Deploying Inventory Analyzer Package for the Portable Audit.

  3. Automate the audit for the selected Audit Source using logon scripts (for Network Folder Audit and Remote Audit) or triggering the audit manually from the flash drive (for Portable Audit).

INFO: For details, see Automating the Network Folder Audit, Deploying Inventory Analyzer Package for the Portable Audit, Deploying Inventory Analyzer package for FTP delivery, Deploying Inventory Analyzer Package for E-mail Delivery.

  4. Check the corresponding source from the deployment location within the access of the Inventory Server and import new snapshots into the database.
