What's new in version 2021.2.1

February 2022

Version 2021.2.1 is a maintenance release. It resolves issues reported in previous versions and updates audit tools.

Email integration

  • Addressed issues with discontinued support for 32-bit versions of Microsoft Outlook in version 2021. This change is a part of our transition to 64-bit architecture in version 2021.1.

INFO: For details, see The transition from 32-bit to 64-bit architecture.

Updated audit tools

Alloy Audit Tools has been updated to version 2022. The new version includes these changes:

  • Added support for macOS Monterey (version 12).

  • Added detection of serial numbers for the following products:
    • Microsoft Windows 11
    • Microsoft Office 2021
    • Microsoft Visio 2021
    • Microsoft Project 2021
    • Microsoft Visual Studio 2022

  • Resolved the issue with the Audit Snapshot Viewer failing to show Chromebook snapshots and throwing an "The .adt file contains corrupted data" error.

  • Resolved the issue with the Linux Inventory Analyzer failing to obtain serial numbers on computers running CentOS.

Chromebook audit

  • Alloy Discovery no longer eats up your audit licenses for Chrome devices you have disposed of. All Chromebooks you deprovision in your Google Admin console are deleted from the database during the next sync cycle.

Reports

  • Since Alloy products only support SSRS reports based on embedded datasets, we added an informative error message explaining why running reports based on shared datasets fails and suggesting a workaround.
